The BMW PGA Championship begins today at Wentworth and there are numerous players tipped to do well over the coming days. Defending champion Luke Donald is strongly fancied, as are Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy in what is one of the biggest events on the European Tour.

Darts breaks new boundaries today as the top eight players in the world contest the Dubai Duty Free Masters on an outdoor stage in the United Arab Emirates. The quarter-finals are held today which sees James Wade play Simon Whitlock, Phil Taylor take on Andy Hamilton, Michael van Gerwen meet Wes Newton and Adrian Lewis face Raymond van Barneveld.

There is plenty of domestic cricket action on-going today as five County Championship matches continue having started earlier in the week and another begins. The contest going into its first day is Hampshire against Lancashire at Southampton whilst there is also a Yorkshire Bank 40 match between Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire this afternoon.

The Power Horse Cup continues and is reaching the latter stages now with the two favourites on court again today. Tommy Haas plays Jarkko Nieminen whilst Juan Monaco is heavy odds-on favourite to see off Tobias Kamke.
