History of Knight Pass

The history of Knight Pass covers only two races. Its Horse racing debut came over 16 furlongs at Sandown Park on November 6 2010. On that occasion Knight Pass was held up towards the back of the pack before sprinting on for a win by eight lengths.

The second race in the history of Knight Pass came over the same distance at Southwell on January 5 earlier this year. Knight Pass was again tucked in behind other runners before challenging late on for the line and winning by four lengths.

Strengths of Knight Pass

There are many strengths of Knight Pass that will make this horse successful over a long period of time. Knight Pass has a great attitude as the horse always looks lively, comfortable and happy around other large fields of horses.

Attitude is important for any horse racing over flat races, jumps and long distances. This is one of the biggest strengths of Knight Pass because a badly behaved horse can often cause poor performances and be a nightmare for a jockey to control.

One of the major strengths of Knight Pass is the horseís racing style. Knight Pass has a very strong and fast finish. Holding the horse up seems to be the best way to race because Knight Pass has blown apart the rest of the runners late in the two races to date.

Weaknesses of Knight Pass

One of the biggest weaknesses of Knight Pass to date is that the horse has not shown an ability to adapt in a race yet. Knight Pass is a quality five-year-old and will be challenged by runners that like to sprint off into the distance at the start of a race and set a quick pace.

Knight Pass has to show an ability to adapt in these sorts of situations because the main danger for a hold up horse is that there will be too much ground to cover at the end of a race.

Another of the big weaknesses of Knight Pass is that the horse's style still looks a little raw. Behaviour and attitude are superb but Knight Pass looks a little unorthodox and rusty when forced to move and change position in a race. This can cost valuable distance and time.

Knight Pass in 2011

Knight Pass in 2011 could be one of the most exciting stories to follow. Knight Pass has never raced at Cheltenham before and will be unfamiliar with the noise and large crowds. It will be a test for Knight Pass in 2011 but one that the horse and Greatrex both look up for.
