For Liverpool, Kuyt hit the cross-bar and they had a goal disallowed for a very tight off-side decision. Extra time then brought the inevitable exhaustion and substitutions but the pace of Shaun Wright-Phillips couldn't help this time.
Noone wishes a missed penalty on any player but someone's got to win. This was a vet one-sided shoot out as Liverpools place kickers were clinical to send their side through.

Manchester United travelled to Milan for their return leg against the Italians. United were hit hard with intensity by a Milan side who were obviously fiercely determined to qualify for the final in Athens.
