Royal Ascot Betting 2007

Set in the beautiful grounds of the Windsor Great Park, Ascot racecourse has been part of the horse racing calendar since 1711.
During its 300 year history it has seen some great memorable races.

Ascot runs a twenty six day programme including some of the best flat racing in the world which of course takes in five great days of Royal Ascot. Always a popular event for all those who like to have a special day out, not only for the horse racing betting pundits but for families who can enjoy it with free entertainment and for those who just want to take in the atmosphere and relax there is always plenty of Pimms and Champagne flowing!

Ascot Betting Race Meetings

The oldest race at Royal Ascot is the Gold Cup and this year it celebrates its 200 year anniversary. It will be run on June 21st, Ladies Day.

Later in July sees the King George Day featuring The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth diamond stakes, this is probably the best flat race in the world, highlighting some of the very best jockeys and horses on the racing circuit.

Last year's winner was Hurricane Run who has now retired for the breeding season to Coolmore Stud in Ireland. He had a very close exciting race finish against Electrocutionist, ridden by Frankie Dettori.  Sadly, in September 2006 Electrocutionist died of a heart attack.

In September The Mile Championships take place, this sees the best mile race in Europe with horse racing pundits placing bets on the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

Jump racing takes place at Ascot during the Winter months, beginning in January until March, then starting up again in October until the following March 2008. Prize money for jump racing at Ascot is one of the highest in the world; around two million pounds will be awarded during the season with some of the races worth £100,000

In January this year the Victor Chandler Chase took place, then in February saw the Commercial First Ascot Chase race ridden.
November sees the famous Victor Chandler chase race at the Allied Irish Bank Meeting and December; the BGC Meeting featuring the Grade 1, BGC Long Walk Hurdle takes place.
