John and Edward X-Factor Pest Control

October 27th, 2009 by Paul

john-and-edwardThe British public love a laugh, and right now there playing one of the biggest nationwide pranks on a certain Mr Cowell. Over the weekend, the X-Factors double act of John and Edward, were reported to have received the highest number of votes from the show’s phone-in poll. Quite simply, John and Edward are car crash TV! You can’t stop yourself from watching, even though you know, deep down, it’s wrong.

I fully expect, Simon Cowell, to appear on this weekends show with a Rento-Kill team beside him, ready to get these pests fully under control. Because, if Cowell doesn’t, then the X-Factor and it’s reputation is going down the drain fast! John and Edward have built up a cult following from Robbie Williams to Noel Gallagher, so getting rid of these ‘likeable pests’ might be harder than a certain Mr Cowell thinks.

Scottish Football On The Slide

October 22nd, 2009 by Simon

scottish-footballImagine, if you will, Manchester United and Chelsea playing week in, week out in The English League 1. No matter if they won the league or finished second they didn’t get promoted. What affect would this have on the clubs?

How could you expect the grounds to be full for every home game? Do you think the top players of world football would be attracted to the clubs, if this was the scenario? Finally, how would the other teams in the league feel towards Man U and Chelsea, if they released a press statement every couple of months complaining of their predicament and their longing to be accepted into the Championship or Premiership and escape their purgatory?

Now, look at Rangers and Celtic and you can understand why these two Scottish giants are in football freefall!

It’s not just hurting the Old Firm, it’s hurting Scottish football in general. Expectancy levels in Scottish football are hurtling towards an all time low. Most football betting punters have seen this coming for a good few years. The Old Firm have a domestic stranglehold on the game which is slowly choking it to a slow and painful death.

Maradona and Argentina in the Hands of the Gods

October 8th, 2009 by Simon

maradona-argentinaWith this weekends impending World Cup Final 2010 Qualifiers taking place, we thought we would cast our net a little further than what is happening in and around the UEFA teams. OK, England’s already there, Scotland and Wales are out, Republic need to beat Italy to guarantee a play-off place and Northern Ireland have to beat the Czech Republic away and hope other results go there way.

However, all that aside, there is only one football story worth talking about this weekend, which is Maradona’s and Argentina’s struggling qualification chances. It seems odd to even think about a World Cup Final without hearing the famous chant, “Vamos vamos Argentina”.

But that is a possibility for the Albicelestes (Light blue and whites) if they fail to take something from their remaining 2 qualifying games.

2009 X-Factor Final 12 Betting Odds

October 6th, 2009 by Simon

x-factor-2009-betting-oddsAfter much deliberation, tears and Cheryl Cole (Have I Made The Right Choice) close-ups, we were finally given our final 12 acts that should keep us entertained (hopefully) over the up-and-coming winter months.

The Over-25’s were indeed the toughest category to choose from and Simon has offered up 3 male vocalists which, one feels, has the potential x-factor winner amongst them. Unfortunately, Louis Walsh, selected, as I said he would, John and Edward Grimes as sheer get under your skin factor and they’ll probably be around for about 2 or 3 weeks getting more irritating each week.
