The top 40 got announced last night and Britain’s Got Talent betting enthusiasts will be watching the semi-final shows with great interest in the lead-up to the live final on Saturday night. The bookies have Spelbound as their favourite to win the show, which just might be the case for these talented gymnasts. But with a host of talanted singers on their tales it might not be such plain sailing (or flying) for the Spellbound lot.

Murray’s Chances of Winning The 2010 French Open

May 25th, 2010 by Simon

The French Open brings out the best and most inevitably ‘the worst’ in Tennis players. The dogs of the clay war were let loose yesterday amid the stifling Parisian heat. British No.1 and No.4 seed for the French Open, Andy Murray, laid claim to winning his first ever Grand Slam by overcoming a rather spoiling, Richard Gasquet.

Murray, trailing two sets to love began to become upset after Gasquet started disrupting tacticts, however, instead of Murray letting his temper get the better of himself, he channeled his aggression and won the next three sets and the game. An interesting insight into how Murray’s tennis game is improving, and perhaps French Open betting fans might see him as being an appealing outside possibility to win this tournament, especially at his current odds of 20/1.

Champions League Final Betting 2010

May 20th, 2010 by Simon

In a bid to appeal to a wider TV audience, this year’s Champions League Final has been moved to a Saturday night. However, given the pedigree of the competing teams (Inter Milan and Bayern Munich) you could have shown this game in the wee small hours and still millions would have set their alarms to watch it.

Such is the magnitude of the Champions League Final. Yet, when the wizened ol’ fox that is Mourinho says of the Champions League Final, “It is a bigger competition than the World Cup”, I’m guessing he had a large spoonful of hyperbole with his Weetabix that morning. It’s big but it’s not that big! Hence the timeframe switch to capitalise on viewing figures.

Worldcup 2010 Betting Odds

May 18th, 2010 by Simon

England have started their preparations for the World Cup 2010 by flying off to Austria to partake in some high altitude training. Thirty players have boarded that plane and with only twenty three places up for grabs, it is going to be a tough time for some, to prove themselves worthy of a squad place ahead of the confirmation on June 1st.

Looking at Capello’s preliminary 30 man squad, most world cup betting punters would say that the cull is most likely to come from defence and the midfield area. I would take the 5 strikers on offer to South Africa – Bent (Sunderland), Crouch (Tottenham), Defoe (Tottenham), Heskey (Aston Villa) and Rooney (Manchester United) all offer something different for Capello – and if your going to win this World Cup you need options available to you.

Spanish Grand Prix Betting 2010

May 6th, 2010 by Paul

It’s the home circuit of Ferrari’s, Fernando Alonso, and both he and Ferrari will be hoping it’s not a pain in Spain as Alonso looks to cut into Jenson Button’s 11 point lead in the Drivers Championship. Formula One betting fans will remember that Button claimed the Spanish Grand Prix title last year but we all know that Ferrari were caught cold at the start of last years F1 Championship. They’ll be looking to boss the podium again this year, well, they have won the Spanish Grand Prix six times since 2001 – albeit four of those wins were under Schumacher when he was at his best.

Speaking of Michael Schumacher, the uncomprimising German released a press statement saying he is ‘extremely motivated’ after many were raising eyebrows over his current desire for the sport after only accumulating 10 points on the F1 drivers leaderboard. An optimistic Schumacher said, “The good news is that after three years away, I am feeling extremely motivated. So I am clearly ready to take this challenge.”
