World Cup 2018 Host Betting

October 28th, 2010 by Paul

It’s all kicking off as we creep ever so nearer the date when the host nation for the World Cup 2018 will be announced. Quite frankly, the World Cup 2018 Bid Football Betting has descended into a bit of a two-way slug fest between England and Russia. Amid claims of corruption towards some FIFA members whose votes are available for a price we now have the Russian’s coming out and slagging England off with some scathing attacks on the English bid to bring the World Cup to these shores in 2018.

It remains to be seen that the ‘World Cup fix claims‘, instigated by a British newspaper will severely hurt England’s World Cup bid as host nation, but it has dirtied FIFA’s credibility for fairness. FIFA, as one of the major sports organisations must be smarting over the claims and will be scrambling over the next few weeks to regain the moral high ground that they like to bestow.

Wagner of X-Factor Has Not Left The Building

October 26th, 2010 by Paul

It seems our nations favourite “singing competition” has another Jedwardesque twist in its tail. Wagner, a Brazilian-born throwback from an Austin Powers era is causing quite a bit of a stir. X-Factor 2010 betting is now showing the singer as being best bet to win 33/1 from Bet365 down from 80/1 from last week. Such is the kerfuffle surrounding an online group determined to keep Wagner in the competition that the credibility of the show could be put at risk. I guess the words “Pot, Kettle, Black” will not be lost on the shows producers.

Before anyone starts to say that this “online group” will run out of steam, they are the same people who kept last year’s X-Factor winner Joe McElderry from reaching Christmas No 1, opting for Rage Against The Machine instead. They know how to create a buzz online, they understand the power of social sites such as Twitter and Facebook, and they are really serious about making Wagner the 2010 X-Factor winner come December.

X Factor Winner Odds 2010

October 21st, 2010 by Simon

We’re into Week 3 of the X-Factor 2010 betting extravaganza and the pressure is beginning to show on some of the contestants. Last week we saw Scottish/American, Storm Lee, and his red mop exit the show alongside the poor man’s Scissor Sister wannabees, Diva Fever. Standouts from last week show were Mary Byrne, Matt Cardle (again), One Direction and surprisingly Katie Weasel, sorry Weisel.

So, what’s been happening since we last tuned in? Well, it seems that Wagner has been caught in a tape scandal, rightly named, “Wagnergate” where the Brazilian, ahem, singer, has a go at the X-Factor show, Simon Cowell and a host of others in a foul mouthed tirade. Wagner is certainly picking up a cult following akin to the jedward farse of last year.

Katie Weasel, Weisel, is the new pantomine witch according to Star magazine, yet she forgot her broomstick to lean on when she collapsed during a late-night visit to TopShop.

Soulful, Paije Richardson, will perform this weekend on X-Factor, even though the youngster has just endured the loss of his grandmother.

Finally, Cher Lloyd, is getting used to being noticed in the street, she even has her own X-Factor stalker, well, an orange midget to be truthful, seriously, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

Has Ferguson Said ‘Toodle-Roo’ To Wayne

October 19th, 2010 by Simon

One wondered just how Wayne Rooney could eclipse such a breathtaking, free goal scoring, sublime skilful football of last season for both club and country. Now we know … he couldn’t!

Wayne Rooney silently imploded at the World Cup, playing like a shadow of himself that had previously wowed Premier League fans weeks earlier. South Africa expected ‘Wayne The Great‘ instead we witnessed ‘Wayne The Shell‘, a young man cracking under the massive pressure and looking lost on the pitch amongst his team-mates then lashes out at the England support for booing an abject display against Algeria.

Not before long, it was all over for Rooney and England and as soon as the plane touched down back home, Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson, took his star-striker back amongst his flock. Ferguson was determined to protect his star-striker and mould his shattered player back in to a force, once again, many teams feared.

Everton vs Liverpool Betting Preview

October 14th, 2010 by Simon

No doubt, there is much madness going on at Merseyside this season. Both Everton and Liverpool have been poor on the field this season. Premier League betting punters have seen these two giants slip to the lower end of the league table. Everton currently sit in 17th position with Liverpool equal on points with Everton but with a worse goal difference sees the former ‘Kings of Europe’ in 18th – right in the relegation drop zone.

Of course Liverpool’s woes are not just contained to the pitch. Their on-going court case over ownership of the club continues to make headlines. It is obvious that the wrangle of ownership is havine an affect on performances on the pitch. Roy Hodgson has pleaded that the ownership battle is quickly resolved. That though looks highly unlikely as owners Hicks and Gillett have obtained a temporary restraining order in a Dallas court preventing the likelyhood of a sale going ahead. The American owners are determined to hold on to the club and make sure that their loss isn’t going to be the estimated £144m which they would lose if the current bid was to be accepted.

Czech Republic v Scotland Betting Preview

October 7th, 2010 by Paul

It’s the first of a double header for Scotland when they play the Czech Republic on Friday the 8th of October. Then next Wednesday night they face Spain at home. Both these games will have a lot of influence as to whether Scotland can qualify from this group for the Euro 2012 Championships. It’s no surprise that the Czech Republic v Scotland betting favours the home team after a stuttering start from Scotland.

Sure the Czech Republic lost their opening home game to unfancied Lithuania which makes them even more of a danger to the Dark Blues tomorrow night.

The Scottish press has been buzzing that, Scotland manager, Craig Levein, will drop Kenny Miller for rookie QPR striker, Jamie Mackie. It is a rumour that Levein himself has failed to quash and sparked much debate about why would you dump your most potent striker for someone who has no experience of playing at this level.

Final 12 X Factor Betting 2010

October 5th, 2010 by Paul

If there is one program during the last few years that gets everyone talking around the water cooler, no matter if you hate it or love it, it is the ITV1 hit – The X-Factor. And what a stink it caused on Sunday night. Everything was going swimmingly, the Over 28′s were chosen, the boys and the groups also – everybody in unison and agreement as to who had been selected to sing at the Live shows. Then X-Factor betting went into meltdown when Cheryl Cole decided to put through Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel instead of the more talented pairing of Gamu Nhengu and Treyc Cohen.

Amid an online social backlash which seen Twitter and Facebook explode with angry protests claiming the show was ‘Fix Factor‘ and claims that Cheryl Cole was racist for not selecting the two coloured girls. OK it did get stupid after awhile, especially the racist remarks. Now, it seems that Cole was advised not to put Gamu through because there were reports circulating that she may be deported from the country – throwing the singing competition in to a mess if Gamu had been picked for the X-Factor live shows.
