It’s not really a shock to hear that Andy Murray has progressed to the Quarters at Wimbledon. We’re now used to our British No.1 reaching the latter stages of the big tennis tournaments. But, rather, we are all delightfully surprised with the manner Murray has gone about his business. His tennis has been delightful to watch, even cheeky at times, and his display against Richard Gasquet in the last round was swift and decisive. Gasquet never really had a chance against Murray.

Which now sets Andy Murray up very nicely against the unseeded Feliciano Lopez in a interesting quarter-final encounter.

It’s Spain’s turn for Formula One action this weekend as thousands will pack Valencia to bursting point as the 2011 European Grand Prix gets underway. After the madness of the rain at the Canadian Grand Prix, the drivers will now have to endure the sweltering sunshine of the Spanish circuit. With temperatures expected to hit the 30′s, Lewis Hamilton and McLaren will be hoping to turn up the heat on Red Bull’s soaraway leader Sebastian Vettel.

It was Vettel who won the 2010 European Grand Prix and according to the latest Formula One 2011 betting it’ll be Red Bull who’ll take the chequered flag again this year albeit perhaps under the steam of Mark Webber this time.

Germany hosts the 2011 Fifa Women’s World Cup this time around and with more media coverage than ever before it is a great opportunity for the women’s game to really flourish. England’s Women will be contesting and have been drawn in Group B alongside Japan Women’s, Mexico Women’s and New Zeland Women’s.

UEFA’s Under 21 European Championship gets underway this weekend and as any football betting enthusiasts will tell you, the U21 Euro’s offers a glimpse of football’s future superstars unless you’re Jack Wilshere, that is.

Do believe the hype! This could, potentially, be a classic and an almost last hurrah for the heavyweight division to reinstill itself as an exciting spectacle. There is genuine interest in the David Haye v Wladimir Klitschko Boxing betting on both sides of the pond – something the heavyweight division has failed to achieve since the days of Lewis or even the Tyson era.

It’s often been said, that if you want to pick the winner ahead of the Epsom Oaks then look to the Lingfield Oaks Trial for you’re potential victor.
