England v Scotland Betting 2011 Rugby World Cup

September 30th, 2011 by Paul

It’s crunch time tomorrow morning (Saturday 1st October) in New Zealand as England v Scotland meet in what is a crucial, do-or-die Pool B match. England v Scotland betting has Martin Johnson’s side as favourites to win the game and progress into the last eight. It’s a tougher ask for Scotland as they’ll need to beat England by 8 points to win the group and hope that Argentina lose.

With hosts New Zealand waiting for the runners-up in Pool B it’s imperative for both England and Scotland to win Pool B and avoid facing the All-Black’s.

It’s the richest race in the European Horse Racing betting calendar, known as The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe – or just the ‘Arc‘ and it takes place this weekend.

2011 X Factor Betting Preview

September 21st, 2011 by Simon

Have you been tuned in at the weekend, over the last few weeks of Summer, as the X-Factor returned to our screens with the audition shows? Of course it has been all-change on the judging panel as Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos become the new faces of the show alongside ol’ hounddog himself – Louis Walsh.

So far, X-Factor 2011 seems slicker than previous productions. More time has been spent on focussing on those that can actually sing – however, it wouldn’t be the X-Factor audiotion shows without the necessary peppering of those auditionees which seem a bit deluded or are just physically tone deaf.

Rangers v Celtic Betting

September 16th, 2011 by Paul

Another Old Firm match-up is upon us this weekened as Rangers v Celtic for the first time of this SPL 2011/12 season. It hasn’t been the prettiest of starts for either half of the Old Firm divide outside of the SPL this season. Rangers were conquered by FC Malmo in the Champions League qualifiers, they then had the safety net of dropping into the Europa Cup but with their heart not really in the competition – they fell at the first hurdle to NK Maribor. Now they face TAX issues and a real chance that the club could go into administration it’s not the start that Ally McCoist wished for as manager of the Light Blues.

Tyson Fury vs Nicolai Firtha Betting Preview

September 13th, 2011 by Paul

Tyson Fury is back in action this weekend, not that long after his unanimous points decision to win the British Heavyweight title from Dereck Chisora back in late July. It’s a bit of a quick return to the ring for the British champ and the quality of his opponent has raised a few eyebrows.

With the fight taking place at the Kings Hall, Belfast it’s also to be televised live on Channel 5 this weekend and it offers Fury the chance once more to raise his profile in the UK. However, Tyson Fury vs Nicolai Firtha is barely going to create a lot of noise elsewhere outside these shores, if any at all.

September 9th, 2011 by Simon

The oldest British Classic flat horse race runs tomorrow (10/09/2011) which means I must be talking about the St. Leger Stakes at Doncaster. With prize money for this flagship race totalling around £500,000, you can get a sense as to why it is the most betted race in the English thoroughbred racing season.

Vitali Klitschko v Tomasz Adamek Betting Preview

September 7th, 2011 by Simon

A World Heavyweight title is disputed this weekend between current champion, Vitali Klitschko and Polish challenger, Tomasz Adamek. Although the fight is barely registering on the richter scale in the UK media, elsewhere, especially in Poland where the event is taking place, the magnitude of hype is building rapidly.

Around 40,000 fans will cram into the City Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland (a possible venue for England if they qualify for next year’s Euro 2012 Championships) to witness homegrown talent, Tomasz Adamek, try and break the elder of the Klitschko brothers (Vitali) grip on heavyweight boxing.
