Andy Murray The Next Big Thing

December 30th, 2008 by Paul

One of the major British stars to shine in 2008 was 21 year old, Tennis ace, Andy Murray. We have been avid fans of Murray here at the Free Bets Blog now for some time and it seems that the moneymen in sport have also become firm admirers. It has been reported that Murray could see his wages swell to a staggering £100 million in 2009 as a bidding war breaks out between a number of advertising management agencies desperate to sign Murray’s signature. Not bad for someone who has shown potential to win a Grand Slam.

Wimbledon, of course, is where all of us Tennis betting fans would like to see Murray win his firt ever Grand Slam. However, to much emphasis on lifting this prize is put on our British tennis stars, just ask Tim Henman about the pressure of winning Wimbledon can do to a player. The last British Men’s Champion at Wimbledon was Fred Perry back in 1935 so having this amount of expectation thrust upon a players shoulders is immense. But Murray seems a different kind of breed of tennis player from what Britain has produced in the past … well, his wage cheque will be, if the management agencies get their way.
