Finally, we have new housemates to play with this summer. Big Brother 10 kicked off last Thursday night, when we were introduced to the latest specimens that will be filling our TV and newspaper space over the hopefully up-and-coming balmy summer days and nights. It’s make or break for BB10, with rumours rife that the show may be axed if this year’s current crop of housemates fail to hit the target with the viewing public.

Already, there has been some inhouse politico fighting with BB host, Davina McCall, hitting out at C4 bosses for not giving fans of the show what they want – 24hr coverage. C4 hit back claiming that the live feed cost a fortune to maintain in legal costs alone, never mind paying for the cost of streaming the housemates 24/7 for nigh on 12 weeks.

And what about those housemates? For those Big Brother betting fans what have we been served up with this year? Well so far, things look promising, we have a Wolverine lookalike in Marcus, a insanely mad-in-a-nice-sorta-way toff called Freddy, eye candy for the girls in Kris, eye candy for the boys in Sophie and a Brazilian airline steward in Rodrigo. Throw in a lesbian punk, a Russian professional boxer who does magic tricks, a Scottish wannabe wag (whose only claim to fame was dating a Scottish Third division footballer ????) and a Geordie fun loving lad and we have a concoction for fun in BB10 this year. We hope!
