British Eurovision Chances 2009
It’s here, again! The Eurovision Song Contest comes live from Moscow this Saturday on BBC1 at 8pm. 42 countries will participate in 2 semi finals, where 25 countries will then proceed to the final on Saturday night. The first semi-final will take place tonight and the second semi on Thursday night. British hopeful, Jade Ewen, will be signing “It’s My Time” penned by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who knows a thing or two about music, but this is The Eurovision, where music sometimes takes a second place to political voting.

Realistically, can Britain win? I doubt it! Latest Eurovision 2009 Betting odds have Jade and Britiain at 14/1. Early favourites Norway (6/4) have a folky tune to get the toes tapping.
Another first for the Eurovision, is an attempt to play out the political, backslapping voting that has seen neighbouring countries vote each other up and some dubious point descisions through the years. This year, only half the vote will be given over to the public while the other half will be judged by a panel of ‘musical experts’.
Just how good is Jade’s entry? We have embedded her video release for you to enjoy. Here’s hoping she can do better than recent entries from Britain in the past few years :
