Sports Personality Betting 2010

November 30th, 2010 by Paul

The BBC Sports Personality Awards are always a favourite with TV audiences each year as we commemorate those sporting individuals/teams who have reached great heights of achievement throughout the year. Previous winners of this prestigious ceremony have included the likes of David Beckham (01), Andrew Flintoff (05), Joe Calzaghe (07) and more recently Ryan Giggs (09). The BBC have announced this years 10 sports men and women for the BBC Sports Personality 2010 award and looking through the list – this years winner is going to be a very tight call indeed and the Sports Personality betting hightlights this.

Current favourite for the BBC Sports Personality 2010 betting is champion Jockey, Tony McCoy, who has the small accolade of being the greatest jump jockey in history. Best odds on McCoy are 4/5 from 888Sport. Tony McCoy finished 3rd in the same competition back in 2002 with Paula Radcliffe lifting the Sports Personality trophy that year. It is interesting to note that no Racing Jockey has ever won the competition although there have been a couple of winners that participated in the Equestrian discipline (both Royalty, so take from that what you will).

2010 I’m A Celebrity Winner Betting

November 16th, 2010 by Simon

It’s back! I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here 2010 crept back onto our television screens on Sunday night and we are barely 2 days in to broadcasting and already we have controversy. Now, we all know the idea of the show, to take “celebrities” and place them in the Australian Jungle, get them to do tasks for food involving plenty of creepy crawlies, spiders plus a host of other unmentionables that would make your skin crawl. Seems fairly straight-forward, and it is, but it is normally this basicness that is enough to give the Celebrities a touch of jungle fever and make them behave in all sorts of weird ways to escape their botanic nightmare.

None, was more so present, than last night when that ‘wee wummin off the tele’, Gillian McKeith, a well known nutritionist, whom consistently said she suffers a phobia of insects and a fear of heights (what the heck she doing there then, I hear you say) freaked out on her Bushtucker Trial. Her task involved being plunged underground into pitch darkness in a chained and padlocked crate alongside all sorts of creepy things including rats. Gillian then seemed to take an almighty panic attack and then pass out – but was still concious enough during all of this to make sure her top was pulled down over her exposed belly.

The Oscars 2010 Betting Odds

March 4th, 2010 by Paul

This Sunday I’ll be brushing down my tuxedo and glossing up those bashed in winkle picker shoes I bought back in the early 90′s for a grand night in front of the TV to watch The 2010 Oscars ceremony.

Considering myself to be an aveage film buff type (hey, if Johnathon Ross can get away with it, then so can I) I’d thought I’d share my views on who’ll pick up the “golden nuddy man bling” for all you Oscar 2010 betting punters.

Sports Personality of 2009 Betting Odds

December 1st, 2009 by Paul

sports-personality-2009-bettingWhat an incredible year it has been for UK sport. British sport has had a rather successful 2009 and when you look over your shoulder at the year almost gone, you can see why the betting for Sports Personality of the Year 2009 is going to be a tough ask.

Understandbly, the bookies have opened the books and made Jenson Button the hot favourite to lify this years Sports Personality trophy. However, look down the 10 nominations and you’ll see names that also gained success this year and who have a story to tell just as remarkable as that of Button’s.

For example, Ryan Giggs, who broke into the Manchester United first team way back in 1991 and has made an astonishing 574 appearances for his club – even more remarkable when you consider a professional footballers shell life with a club is around the 2 – 3 year mark.
