Weekend European Championship Qualifying Betting Preview

It’s a busy weekend for International football this weekend with England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic all in action tonight (Friday) and Scotland playing tomorrow. It’s starting to get in to the ‘nitty gritty’ stages of Euro Championship 2012 betting as we’re over the halfway stage and this weekend’s games plus next week’s midweek matches will undoubtedly give us all a better view as to which countries will be playing in the Euro Championships 2012 next summer.

European Championship Qualifying Betting 03-09-2010

The Euro qualifiers get underway tomorrow night (I know, Friday night football, once again UEFA show disdain towards fans travelling to the match citing that they are acting in the benefit of the players’ clubs, not too sure on that one) and for the home nations of England, Scotland and Wales it’s a chance to make a credible start to their European Championship qualifying campaign.

England will be looking to bury some of that hurt they inflicted on the nation by taking another positive step to atone for their miserable World Cup in South Africa. Capello and co have the Bulgarians to contend with, while Wales travel to Montenegro, all the teams feature in Group G alongside Switzerland – whom England will face come Tuesday night’s European Championship qualifying matches.

You’d expect Theo Walcott to headline England’s frontline alongside Rooney. Crouch is missing through injury but Jermain Defoe is expected to be fit and ready to play if needed. At the back it now looks certain that Joe Harte will be England’s #1 choice.
