England seem to be breaking apart from the inside-out as the biggest football stage on the planet draws ever closer. England’s World Cup betting odds haven’t yet suffered. Despite growing, negative headlines in the press and media surrounding certain individuals private lives. You begin to wonder just how much these stories hampers squad bondmanship.
The latest story centres around Manchester City defender, Wayne Bridge, and his announcement that he no longer wished to be part of the current England set-up, his exact words were, “It has always been an honour to play for England. However, after careful thought I believe my position in the squad is now untenable and potentially divisive“. this of-course all stems from ex-England captain, John Terry’s affair with Bridge’s ex-girlfriend.

Aston Villa will be playing to win their first piece of silverware since they last won the league Cup back in 1996. They will have to overcome Manchester United, of-course, but Villa have taken 4 points from Alex Ferguson’s team already this season. Martin O’Neil will be asking his players to give one last effort and help Villa finally get some bling for the trophy room.
It is not clear, yet, if Manchester United will start with their top players. Rooney may be rested ahead of a gruelling March fixture list for United including the return leg of their Uefa Champions League game with AC Milan. Predicting the outcome of an Aston Villa vs Man Unt match is never easy, and if your looking for some free bets action before the game, then as usual sign-up to the Free Betting Online Alerts for all the best sports betting advice available today.

We’ve all been there, down the local pub, pint in hand, debating (sometimes, not quietly) about what era produced the best ever team, or scored the best goal – ever. Now, seeing as we are in a World Cup year, we thought it would be a good idea to start running some football focussed polls and today we are going to kick off with : The Greatest Football Manager Ever Poll.
We have trimmed the list to just 7 potential candidates, that’s right just 7. Believe me, we could have added a helluva lot more, but then we remembered that this poll is about Great Managers, not just the good ones. Have a look through our nominees and give us your vote. Comments are more than welcome and don’t forget to spread the word and tell your mates down the pub.

With this weekends impending World Cup Final 2010 Qualifiers taking place, we thought we would cast our net a little further than what is happening in and around the UEFA teams. OK, England’s already there, Scotland and Wales are out, Republic need to beat Italy to guarantee a play-off place and Northern Ireland have to beat the Czech Republic away and hope other results go there way.
However, all that aside, there is only one football story worth talking about this weekend, which is Maradona’s and Argentina’s struggling qualification chances. It seems odd to even think about a World Cup Final without hearing the famous chant, “Vamos vamos Argentina”.
But that is a possibility for the Albicelestes (Light blue and whites) if they fail to take something from their remaining 2 qualifying games.

It didn’t take long to rear its head again did it – using technology in professional football matches. We covered this last season when we asked, “Will Cameras Kill Football Controversy?” This time the debate rages over Manchester United’s added injury time winner against their derby rivals Machester City. United, as most of you football betting punters will know – scored the winning goal deep into stoppage time – 1 minute 27 seconds after the alloted 4 minutes of added time.

George Burley and Terry Butcher don’t really look anything like Laurel and Hardy but believe me when these two get together to manage an international football team, it’s comedy gaffs all the way. Scotland face their next 2 matches at home against Macedonia on Saturday the 12th and then the following Wednesday against Holland needing to win both matches to have any glimmer of hope of qualifying for the World Cup 2010. Any football betting punter will tell you that the Macedonia game might, just be achievable for Scotland but an assured victory against a classy Dutch side brimming with confidence – don’t make me laugh.
