Christmas No 1 2008 Betting

December 9th, 2008 by Simon

Is it possible for an artist to reach the No 1 position in the charts this Christmas time and NOT be the X-Factor winner? Judging previous form it looks highly doubtful. The last 3 years has seen the singing contest, X-Factor, claim the Christmas No 1 position. In 2004, we had the Band Aid upgrade take the title and you need to go back to 2003 with Michael Andrews remake of ‘Mad World’ for the last real competitive year when the Christmas No 1 betting was an open race.

There are some strange combination being put together this year to make a fight of things. Take Terry Wogan and Aled Jones duo or skater band Scooter teaming up with rockers, Status Quo. Also, ex X-Factor winner, and now diva in her own right, Leona Lewis releases a very good remake of Snow Patrol’s ‘Run’. Take That and Boyzone are also in the mix. Bob the Builder is back and the smart cookies at the record labels have re-released old favourites such as Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’, The Pogues, ‘Fairytale Of New York’, into the download chart only.

But, even with some extra punch from the contenders for the Christmas No 1 slot, the X-Factor is still the one to beat. Below are some Christmas No 1 betting odds to get you in that festive cheer.
