European Championship Qualifying Betting 03-09-2010
The Euro qualifiers get underway tomorrow night (I know, Friday night football, once again UEFA show disdain towards fans travelling to the match citing that they are acting in the benefit of the players’ clubs, not too sure on that one) and for the home nations of England, Scotland and Wales it’s a chance to make a credible start to their European Championship qualifying campaign.
England will be looking to bury some of that hurt they inflicted on the nation by taking another positive step to atone for their miserable World Cup in South Africa. Capello and co have the Bulgarians to contend with, while Wales travel to Montenegro, all the teams feature in Group G alongside Switzerland – whom England will face come Tuesday night’s European Championship qualifying matches.
You’d expect Theo Walcott to headline England’s frontline alongside Rooney. Crouch is missing through injury but Jermain Defoe is expected to be fit and ready to play if needed. At the back it now looks certain that Joe Harte will be England’s #1 choice.
Perhaps the outcome of the World Cup might have been different if Capello had picked the confident youngster. Still, if’s and but’s don’t win matches and it’s time to move forward for England. Current Euro 2012 betting make England stand-out favourites ahead of the game tomorrow night. Bulgaria have never beaten England in eight matches ( 4 wins for England and 4 draws) and I don’t expect them to buck this trend tomorrow night.

Wales will not find it easy away to Montenegro tomorrow night in the other Group G European Championship qualifying betting match. Montenegro have lost just once in their last 6 home games and are currently ranked 72nd in the World FIFA rankings. Not bad for a team that didn’t even exist just over 5 years ago. Welsh manager, John Toshack, will be looking to his star players like the inform Gareth Bale and the rejuvinated Craig Bellamy to help get an early win under their belts. The bookies see Montenegro as favourites for the match and although Wales haven’t drawn a game of football in their last 22 matches – this is the more probable outcome for me.

Craig Levein officially starts his new job as the Scotland coach tomorrow night with their European Championship Qualifying game against Lithuania away. It will be interesting to see how Levein lines his team up tomorrow night, most Scots will be hoping for a more attack minded formation with Boyd, Miller and McFadden up front. The Scots central defence is likely to start with the partnership of 40 year old David Weir and Stephen McManus. It’s crucial that Scotland pick up 3 points from this match, if they are to have a realistic chance of qualification. If Scotland can feed the ball quickly to Miller then there is hope that they’ll come away with the points required.
