European Championships Under 21 Betting Odds

England’s Under 21’s take another big step tomorrow (Friday the 26th June 09) in achieving European Championship success. England U-21’s face the host nation Sweden in this crucial semi-final and must be confident of disposing the host nation and facing either Italy or Germany in the final. Having caught some of the matches I have to say I’m mightily impressed by the way Stuart Pearce has this young, talanted side playing football. And with Pearce proclaiming, ‘There’s better to come…’ from his team, you begin to wonder , from a football betting prospective, just how good this England U21 team is?
The difference with this England U21 side and previous sides down through the years, is that they seem to realise when their game plan is not working quickly and take the necessary action as they did in the game against Spain. Perhaps this has something to do with Pearce learning from Capello with the full internationals. Whatever, it is, its working.
Theo Walcott has been used sparingly in the tournament so far, he was quiet in the opening encounter with Finland but used his blistering pace in the game against Spain effectively to help shape a 2-0 victory for England’s young lions. Already qualified, he was left out the remaining game against Germany, which seen an incredible 10 changes made by Pearce, resting his first choice players and running the eye over possible inclusions for the up-coming game against Sweden. Can England break their semi-final duck and get into a final of a major championship? We will soon see, come Friday evening, kick off is at 5.00pm and live on Sky.
