PGA Championship Betting Odds
The high profile US PGA Championship gets underway between the 13-16 August 2009, at Hazeltine Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. Defending champion Padraig Harrington is looking forward to the championship and is eager to hold onto his title after seeing his defence of his Open crown end without much of a fight from the Irish golfer. Tiger Woods once more takes up the early favourite role by the bookies but Woods will face stiff competition from the World’s No.2, Phil Mickelson.

Winning the Buick Open was a back-to-basics pat on the back for Tiger after he failed to even make the cut at the Open Championship. Woods understands that he need to start competing again for the Majors and most US PGA betting pundits will see his victory at the Buick Open as a promising sign but hardly a concrete indicator that he is back to his best.
British chances of winning the PGA Championship come from Lee Westwood, Paul Casey, Ross Fisher, Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Ian Poulter. Westwood (33/1) has been improving as of late, and if he can keep his concentration peaked then he could be in amongst the leaders come the final day. Casey looks a good bet alongside Fisher both at 40/1, however the pair need to add that little bit extra to their game to walk away as a PGA champion. It could well be, as the bookies suggest, that the US PGA Championship winner will be American, they tend to like winning this Major.
