Spanish Grand Prix – Can Button Make it 4?

May 5th, 2009 by Simon

Jenson Button is confident he can add to his fantastic start to the Formula One championship and make it 4 wins out of 5 by winning the Spanish Grand Prix (10 May 2009). The Brit and his Brawn-Mercedes team are currently sitting 12 points clear, with his team mate, Rubens Barrichello 2nd with 19pts and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull-Renault on 18pts. Lewis Hamilton is currently languishing in 7th position with a solitary 9pts after a dissapointing start to his defence of the championship.

After Brawn-Mercedes diffuser issue was forund to be legal, the remainder of the F1 cars are now playing catch-up, restructuring their cars in time before the gap becomes too great for catch-up. It’s looking like Sebastian Vettel (11/2) and Jenson Button (9/4) are early favourites for the Spanish Grand Prix. It is surely refreshing for Formula 1 Betting fans to see the drivers and constructors table turned on its head this season.

However, many punters feel that this is the time when Alonso (10/1) and Hamilton (11/1) will wake up to the realisation that after Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix there are only 12 more meetings to kick start their challenge before it is to late! Bookies are also accepting bets that Ferrari will struggle to win a single race this year (8/11), if that’s not going to get the Italian team irate then nothing will.
