Sports Personality Betting 2008
What a year it has been for British sport, and as we are running into the closing straight of this year it is time to bring some attention to who will lift The BBC’s Sport Personality of The Year award. I have a feeling this year is going to be a tough one to call. With so many great sporting accomplishments by British sports men and woman during 2008. Here we highlight the contenders for the title of BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

2008, saw Beijing host the Olympic Games and Team GB record the best gold medal haul in decades. Manchester United win the Champions League, while Glasgow Rangers reached the final of the UEFA Cup before finally running out of steam. Andy Murray reached his first major final at the US Open. Boxer Joe Calzaghe, last years winner is in amongst the awards yet again.
And there may be even more names put into the mix with Lewis Hamilton still out in front by 5pts in the F1 Drivers Championship with only 2 races to go. Amongst the overseas contenders is the Jamaican sprinting giant Usain Bolt, American swimmer Michael Phelps and Ireland’s Padraig Hamilton, to name but a few.
It all leads to a very exciting call and the Sports Personality of the Year betting will be as close as it has ever been in the awards history, trying to pick an eventual winner out of these great individuals and teams.
