Spurs Vs Young Boys Betting Preview

August 17th, 2010 by Simon

Tottenham Hotspur are on the brink of earning some big money action when they face Young Boys in Berne tonight in the Champions League play-off first leg. Spurs will be guaranteed at least a minimum £10m if they progress to the group stage. However, they face a stiff test from the Swiss outfit as the Spurs Young Boys Champions League betting begins to heat-up.

Young Boys play on an artificial pitch which could prove a tricky surface for Spurs euro dreams. Harry Redknapp has already left Ledley King at home, preferring not to put the big defenders knees under unnecessary stress on the plastic pitch.

If anything, Spurs should take notice that Young Boys lost just once, out of 18 games, on their home surface last season. Young Boys have also played a Champions League qualifier, where they knocked out Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

Looking at the game you expect a score draw might be the likely outcome – which would leave Spurs in a great position, come the 2nd leg at White Harte Lane. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Young Boys were to beat Spurs tonight and with betting odds of 9/2 from Stan James that looks like a very promising bet indeed.
