Super Bowl XLIII Betting 2009 Steelers vs Cardinals
January 27th, 2009 by SimonOn the 1st of February 2009, most Americans will settle down to watch the Super Bowl XLIII Final, at Tampa Bay, Florida, between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals. It is proving to be a tough call between the two competing teams to just who is favourite and whom is the underdog. Bookies have the two teams close with the Arizona Cardinals (23/10) beginning to believe this might be just their year, however, when you have a defense like the Pittsburgh Steelers (3/7) you have every right to be confident about winning games.
There has been quite a stir around this game and its outcome. Both these teams are not brand names to the casual gridiron fan. It’s a bit like two Premiership mid-table teams reaching the FA Cup final, if you want to make a comparison. Hence, the unwillingness from many so-called pundits to select a clear favourite. Which makes it even more fascinating as to who will be victorous at the end.

The Arizona Cardinals topped their NFC division after going 9-7 (9 wins, 7 losses) and made the play-offs for the first time in a decade. In the wild card round they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-24, then went onto to dispatch the Carolina Panthers 33-13 in the divisional play-off before taking their place at the Super Bowl by seeing off the Philadelphia Eagles 32-25.
