Turnberry 2009 Open Betting Odds
It has been a 15 year absence since the Open Golf Championship was last played at the Ailsa Course. Rough and rugged, set against the backdrop of the Ailsa Craig and Arran, this is one links course that puts even the best of the pro golfers to the test. What with the weather forecast spelling out blowy winds and frequent heavy showers over the next few days, Turnberry is bound to break a few dreams of lifting the Claret Jug at one of Ayrshire’s most premier golfing locations.

Early bookies favourite, is once again Tiger Woods (5/2), surprisingly, when you consider Woods hasn’t won a major on European soil since 2006. There will also be many-a-flutter for Open 2009 betting fans on the possibility of Padraig Harrington winning his third consecutive Open title and with some bookies offering 41/1 then it is always worth a punt.
Of the others worth watching are Englishman, Ian Poulter (35/1), hoping to emulate Nick Faldo, as the last Englishman to win the Open way back in 1992. Sergio Garcia (22/1) is another the bookies are favouring well, however, his major form this year has been anything but convincing, hardly impacting at all at the Masters and tying for 10th place at the US Open.
Here’s hoping for another Turnberry classic and also the weather behaves itself a wee bit. Below is a selection of golfers whom we feel is worth putting a bet on for the winner of the Open Golf 2009 title.
