Big Brother Betting 2008
The ninth series of the is now well under way and we've all had a chance to begin our assessment of this year's crop of housemates to start our show Big Brother Betting campaigns. I say 'begin' because the show goes on so long, nearly three months, that character traits often don’t emerge in some of the housemates for quite some time and you can also develop a soft spot for someone you hated at first.
Big Brother Betting Tips
So, Online Betting fans should focus on the evictions at this stage rather than the outright winner. Of course, if you’ve got a nose for these things, you’ll get a better price on the winner sooner rather than later when the likely outcome becomes clearer.
The opening show produced the usual wannabefest of barf inducing displays of extroversion and your average betting fan might then have been excused the thought that they lacked the staying power to watch yet another Big Brother. I know I did, but, memories of the last one kept me hanging in there and the reward of seeing people gradually evolve from their idea of the way they want to be seen to how they really are is a fascinating one. OK – it’s a soap opera but these are real people and it’s a rare thing to be able to observe humans in this kind of way.
About Big Brother 2008
For those Big Brother betting enthusiasts, recently returned from an eight year holiday on Venus and not yet familiar with Big Brother, the show consists of a house containing sixteen people, selected primarily for their capacity to annoy. They proceed to live in close proximity to each other for three months and the winner is the one who can stand it the longest and who survives nominations and a weekly public vote. Housemates nominate two or three of the most irritating each week and they are then subjected to the mercy of the viewers who can vote one of them out of the house.
How Big Brother Betting is unfolding
The field, already narrowed by the eviction of the gorgeous Stephanie and the exclusion, by Channel 4, of Alexandra, for alleged 'intimadatory behaviour', consists of eight males and six females from diverse walks of life and varying ethnicity. One of the males, Michael, a radio producer, has been blind since an operation at the age of 13. He is, at this time, in third place at 5/1. The current bookies favourite at 9/4 is Kathreya, a Thai masseuse, who became a British citizen after studying here. She and Michael also show up as front runners on viewers polls on the Internet. Viewers always seem to favour those with a disability, probably because of the British inclination to admire triumph over adversity. Kathreya appeals because she is everything the British are not; bouncy, happy, extrovert, loves life and is genuinely caring about others. Then there’s second fave, Luke, at 3/1, with his world cup ears and wonderful earnestness.
Other Big Brother Betting ones to watch
Other notables in the house are the sickeningly good looking but brain-dead Dale (12/1) who has declared his interest in 25/1 shot, Jennifer, a pretty, part-time model and vegetarian who has a small daughter. It should be noted that a relationship is a very good way of ensuring a long stay in the house but not necessarily the best route to winning. Darnell has an amazing face and will almost certainly be grabbed by a casting director when he comes out of the house. He is English but spent a few years in the States from where he was deported for involvement with gang culture.
Tips for the Big Brother winner
At 8/1 he is definitely one to watch. Further down the field, Rex is the resident chef so probably will survive a few evictions. Sylvia is beautiful and Rachel is pretty. Dennis is the extrovert dancer; Rebecca is the most annoying but has an effervescence that some people will find appealing. Mario, the older guy and Lisa, his real life partner, are unlikely to stay the course.
