The tournament, in it’s current format, begins with a qualifying group stage between domestic winners from New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka and England, along with the England’s Twenty20 runners-up and the Indian Premier League’s fourth place team. Those six teams are split into two groups of three where they will play each other team in their group once. The top teams in each group will qualify along with the best second place team.

These three teams then join the top 3 teams from the IPL, the winner and runner-up from South Africa’s domestic tournament and the winner and runner-up from Australia’s domestic competition. Resulting in a total of ten teams that make up the Champions League Twenty20 Betting.

At this point the teams are then again split into two groups of five where every team will play every other team once. With two points awarded for a win the top two teams in each group will then progress to the semi-finals where the Champions League Twenty20 becomes a straight knockout tournament.
