Clydesdale Bank 40 Group C 2011
Clydesdale Bank 40 group C 2011 looks horrendously difficult to call on paper as there are three or four counties that could potentially push on and secure a place in the semi-finals of the 40 over competition.
The CB40 is a competition that may not exist for longer than another two or three season due to the exploding popularity of its little brother, Twenty20 cricket. However, Clydesdale Bank 40 group C 2011 could turn out to be the fitting example of why this tournament should stick around for much longer.
CB40 Group C Betting
CB40 group C betting is annoyingly difficult to come to terms with. Nottinghamshire, Somerset and Lancashire are the clear favourites to compete for the top spot and a semi-final place.
However, CB40 group C betting also includes the likes of Essex and Glamorgan who are no mugs in the limited overs format of the game. Essex in particular have struggled over four days and may be looking to exploit this competition. CB40 group C betting could be one of the most difficult but enthralling Cricket Betting markets of 2011.
CB40 Group C Favourites
Nottinghamshire will be in the running by the end of the group stage. They are one of the CB40 group C favourites because they will want to show they are much more than just a successful four day team.
Somerset have been arguably the county to beat in limited overs cricket based on the last 12-18 months. They have quality players hiding in all areas of Taunton and are favourites in a strong Sports Betting market because of this and the experience they have to fall back on.
Lancashire are a very proud county when it comes to all formats of the game. They are also very fortunate to have one of the best swing bowlers in the world in James Anderson to call on when he isn't taking dozens of wickets for England. Lancashire may be the weakest of the CB40 group C favourites but they have a good chance of winning this tournament.
Sides to Watch in CB40 Group C
The two sides to watch in CB40 group C are Glamorgan and Essex. Both of these sides can mount a challenge as strong as any other county in this division. The main reason for this is the inconsistency of both.
When Essex have everyone fit and available for selection they will have a batting order that reads; Alastair Cook, Ravi Bopara, Graham Napier, Ryan ten Doeschate, Owais Shah, James Foster and more. Essex have not played at all well so far this season so their odds could be good.
Glamorgan are one of the sides to watch in CB40 Group C because no one pays them much attention in limited overs cricket. They are led by one of the most talented South African players in Alviro Petersen.
Best of the Rest in Group C
To call Gloucestershire the best of the rest in group C could be considered a little bit of an insult but they are really going to struggle based on the quality of this division. They are more than capable of a few good results and they have solid experience but they lack that special something which all sides seek.
Unicorns will be nothing more than the best of the rest in group C because they are still a developing side. They are nowhere near the level needed at the moment to challenge for any limited overs title in English cricket.
