England Cricket Betting Tour of Bangladesh 2010
England have taken the controversial decision to rest captain Andrew Strauss for the tour of UAE and Bangladesh and Alastair Cook will step in to lead the team. Strauss along with seamer James Anderson will be given a few months rest ahead of a busy 18 months for England which includes The Ashes and the Twenty20 World Cup, but the choice to leave two key players out is not without its knockers. If England come through the tour unscathed then those murmurings of discontent will be silenced but if Bangladesh can reproduce the form they have shown in India’s recent tour then they could cause a few problems for England.
Twenty20 Pakistan v England Cricket Betting
The first stop on departing from England will be Dubai where Paul Collingwood will captain the side for two Twenty20 matches against Pakistan. Having won the recent T20 World Cup in England Collingwood will be all too aware of the threat that they pose in this format of the game, but England also know they have the capabilities after a decent World Cup themselves.
Over such a short series the draw has been installed as the favourite in the series betting and can be backed at around the Even money mark, England are 13/8 and Pakistan 6/4. As adverse weather isn’t likely to play any part in proceedings in Dubai you can be sure that one team will need to win both matches in order to avoid the series draw. Eoin Morgan, England’s Twenty20 specialist will be the catalyst to any onslaught from Collingwood’s men although Kevin Pietersen will also be keen to reassert himself on the format of the game which compliments his expansive style.
ODI Bangladesh v England Cricket Betting
After the brief residence in Dubai, attentions turn to the three match ODI series in Bangladesh where Cook will begin his captaincy test. The England Cricket Betting Tour of Bangladesh 2010 starts here and unsurprisingly the tourists are the hot favourites with the bookmakers to emerge victorious, you can back them at 1/3 to be the overall winners and 11/8 to win the series 3-0. There is also an opportunity to bet on who will leave the voids left by Strauss and Anderson in both the Top England Batsman and Top England Bowler betting markets. Kevin Pietersen is favourite to hit the most runs at around the 3/1 mark but it may pay to look to the limited overs specialist Eoin Morgan who is available at 6/1. Then Stuart Broad is the man that the bookmakers believe will take the most wickets he is available at 5/2 across the board and there doesn’t look to be much point in looking to any other bowler for this one.
Test Match Betting
The England Cricket Betting Tour of Bangladesh 2010 concludes with a two match test series where England are once again expected by the bookmakers to take a comfortable victory. However, I don’t think there will be many who are rushing to back them at the 2/7 being offered by the bookmakers especially given the performances that they have produced against a strong Indian side recently. England are 8/13 to win both matches and achieve a 2-0 series victory but are a more appealing 11/4 to win 1-0 if you believe that Bangladesh can take a draw from one of the two matches.
Again we have Top England Batsman and Top England Bowler betting markets and it is the same man who commands favouritism in the batting market but on the spinner friendly pitches of the subcontinent Graeme Swann is expected to top the stats with the ball. The bookmakers aren’t taking many chances on England’s most potent spinning threat by offering skinny odds of 5/4 on him taking the most wickets, but if he continues his recent form then that may turn out to be a sound bet. But in the batsman market it may be worth looking elsewhere once again, Cook is second favourite at 4/1 but until we see how he copes with the added pressure of the captaincy I wouldn’t fancy backing that. Ian Bell at 5/1 looks to be the best value, after an impressive tour of South Africa his confidence will be high and it is expected that Strauss’s absence will see him move up the order to number four.
