Formula One Great Britain Grand Prix Betting 2011
The Formula One Great Britain Grand Prix Betting 2011 is one of the most interesting races on the calendar with some heavy British interest from the two main drivers of one of the leading teams.
Silverstone is a favourite for some drivers and a nightmare for others but there is value for all skills in this race. There are long straights where the quicker cars in a straight line can get some advantage but there are also numerous overtaking possibilities in the first sector of the race.
Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton from McLaren will have the most support for this race because the contest is in their own back yard. However, the Red Bulls may be the cars dominating Formula One Great Britain Grand Prix Betting 2011 because they have an advantage.
Silverstone Specifications
Silverstone specifications will be common to any regular follower of Formula One racing. There are a total of 52 laps to be completed round the 5.891 kilometre track which means a total racing distance of 306.227 kilometres.
There are 18 key points on the track and Silverstone specifications also include one of the best starts on the Formula One calendar. Drivers are plunged into a race for the first corner of a length of track that toys with the drivers as they strive to hit top gear quickly.
Silverstone specifications reward drivers that break as late as they possibly can because a lot of the corners are wide and provide good overtaking chances. The second and third sectors of the track contain the least number of corners which allows the faster cars down the straights to make up ground or pull away.
British Grand Prix Favourites
The British Grand Prix favourites are going to be the Red Bulls; Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. The reason for this is that they have the best overall car. Silverstone is not a track that favours straight line speed or skilful manoeuvring heavily which means the best balanced drivers have the best chance of winning.
The British Grand Prix favourites will also include the drivers who qualify well for the race. There is real reward for the drivers who will take a few risks and as long as they can drive defensively during the race, they will have a great chance of getting some points on the board.
Difficult Corners at Silverstone
There are two extremely difficult corners at Silverstone which all drivers have to be wary of. The first problem is turns three and four, known as The Loop. These corners come soon after the start and can result in crashes as drivers go through too quickly looking to make up for a bad start to the race or capitalise on a good one.
One of the other most difficult corner at Silverstone is Luffield which is a hard right hand turn after a mini-straight. This corner can be deceptive because of this mini-straight and if the timing is not spot on from the driver then they can crash or give away too much room for an opponent to exploit.
