La Liga Football Betting 2011-2012
La Liga is the best football league in the world through the eyes of millions of people across Europe and the world. La Liga is also in the home of the current World and European champions which gives a pretty good indication that football in Spain is taken quite seriously.
La Liga football betting 2011-2012 could be much easier to predict in a number of ways than the English Premier League season. There are two main dominant teams in Spain who always seem to contend for the title each season which makes it difficult for other teams to make an impact.
Favourites for the La Liga Title
Barcelona and Real Madrid are these two teams and both are strong favourites for the La Liga title. Some have said that this current Barcelona side are the best football team in living memory and are virtually unbeatable whether they are playing in La Liga or in the Champions League.
Real Madrid are also one of the favourites for the La Liga title. Real Madrid have some of the best players in the world and a quality coach in Jose Mourinho. However, they will need to find something a little different to get an edge over Barcelona if Mourinho is going to win another domestic title in another different country.
There are other teams that have been considered favourites for the La Liga title in years gone by but very few of the them have been able to maintain a good level of consistency to cause Barcelona and Real Madrid a few strong headaches.
European Places in La Liga
The number of European places in La Liga is the same as the number of places in the Premier League. There are four spots up for grabs to play in the Champions League and a big pool of teams that can contend for these places besides from the big two.
Valencia have suffered a lot of financial problems over the last few seasons but they have recovered well and kept a lot of good players in place. They have been aided by the sale of some of their best players but they should secure one of the European places in La Liga by the end of the season.
Villarreal have been one of the teams that have been consistently challenging for European places in La Liga over the last few seasons. They have played well in the Champions League and La Liga which has raised their profile.
Drop Down from La Liga
The drop down from La Liga is not as damaging as the drop down from the Premier League to the Championship. The second tier of Spanish football does not have the same levels of consistency as other leagues around Europe. This makes it easier for relegated teams to go back up.
Granada have just been promoted but they may find it extremely difficult to stay in Spain's top division. They simply do not have the finances or the quality of squad needed to compete at the top level which could make their life difficult.
Also expect Rayo Vallecano to struggle because they are in a similar position to Granada. In an ideal world Rayo would have been able to spend to stay in La Liga but they do not have the same infrastructure as many of the top Spanish clubs.
La Liga Free Bets
La Liga Free bets are now widespread and very common coming from a number of bookmakers. These free bets are best used by ignoring bets on the top two teams in La Liga. Barcelona and Real Madrid rarely provide much value these days from a betting point of view.
