League One Football Betting 2011-2012

League One looks set to be a very competitive league with a number of clubs locking horns and trying to take that next step up to Championship level. League One football betting 2011-2012 should be a little easier to call than in the majority of other football leagues because the differences between clubs are more defined.

League One football betting 2011-2012 sees some very big and established clubs in the history of English football battling against each other. Last season also showed that some underrated sides can also mount challenges and push for the title and promotion.

League One Title Contenders

Huddersfield are currently the strongest out of all the League One title contenders. Huddersfield narrowly lost out on promotion through the play-offs last season and have managed to keep their manager and their most important players in place. This will make them a very difficult side to beat over the course of the 2011-2012 season.

Sheffield Wednesday will also be strong League One title contenders in the Football Betting market. Sheffield Wednesday have one of the biggest grounds in the division and one of the biggest budgets. The grossly under performed last season which should act as inspiration to get promoted this season.

League One Promotion Contenders

Preston North End are one of the League One promotion contenders in English Football Betting. Preston come down as a relegated side but are far too good a team to be playing in League One. They have already seen a couple of squad changes but nothing too damaging to the club.

Charlton and Sheffield United are both League One promotion contenders due to the size of the football clubs alone. Both clubs have large sets of supporters and big budgets. Charlton will be one of the most determined teams to get promoted because they have now been in League One for a long time.

There are a couple of smaller clubs in and around London who can be considered as outside League One promotion contenders. Two good examples are Brentford and Leyton Orient. Brentford have a big budget for a small club and Orient seem to have arguably the most together set of players in the division.

League One Relegation Candidates

Teams will not want to be considered as League One relegation candidates but for some it is inevitable. Stevenage could struggle to stay in the division after promotion from League Two. Stevenage have now enjoyed two back to back promotions which could be a little too much for the club to handle.

Yeovil could also struggle to stay up after seeing their budget slashed and key players lave. Yeovil were a Blue Square Premier side a few seasons ago and the majority of that structure has prevented the club from moving forward and developing. Yeovil have also been criticised for asking for scouting tips from fans through social networking sites.

Walsall are another team that could go down. However, Walsall played dramatically better at the back end of last season which got them out of trouble. They have a difficult start but provide the best value as League One relegation candidates.
