Moto GP Indianapolis Grand Prix Betting 2011
There are few races on the Moto GP calendar that whip up such a frantic and glamorous show that can rival the race at Indianapolis. This is a race that means a lot to many of the drivers and it can cause many to raise their game regardless of the drivers or constructors standings.
Moto GP Indianapolis Grand Prix Betting 2011 should be dominated by the stronger drivers in the field but the complexity of the second and third sectors of the track means there is a small chance someone could come through the field and cause an upset.
Indianapolis Grand Prix
The Indianapolis Grand Prix will reward the drivers that brake a little bit harder on the back end of the course. The home straight is just under half a mile in length which is the only real chance to gain a time advantage in a straight line.
There are two points in between the complex series of corners where each rider can thrash the throttle to get a little bit faster before relying on the engineering to slow them down again. This will mean they get to the entry and exit points of corners much faster but this can be the difference between winning and coming second.
Indianapolis Grand Prix Favourites
Casey Stoner has been in terrific form and it may seem a little stale to tip the current series leader to win the race. However, Stoner is one of the Indianapolis Grand Prix favourites because his consistency has been better than everyone else so far this season.
Valentino Rossi will be right up there as one of the Indianapolis Grand Prix favourites. Indy is a place that is habituated by hundreds of thousands of racing fanatics and Rossi will enjoy God like levels of support for this race.
Racing Conditions at Indianapolis
Racing conditions at Indianapolis are important because they have the potential to completely change the way a rider approaches their race at this track. If the track is wet then the chance of being able to open the throttle on straight parts of the track will be gone.
If the racing conditions at Indianapolis are a little on the drier side then it means that each racer will be able to get a little bit lower as they turn on the corners without slipping. This means a lower centre of gravity which is important for all of the riders looking to save fractions of a second.
Qualifying at Indianapolis
Qualifying at Indianapolis is where the drivers will all earn their keep. The focus and concentration has to be maintained more intensely which will mean the best possible time.
A front row start is not essential at Indianapolis because there are numerous places to overtake. However, if the conditions are likely to change or become less favourable then it's far better to hold a front position at the start of the race. This could make qualifying at Indianapolis one of the most intense qualification sessions out of all the Moto GP races.
