Quinz Profile

Quinz is a Philip Hobbs horse with a solid outside chance of winning the Grand National. This Philip Hobbs horse is only seven-years-old with a good level of experience in a relatively short career.

Quinz is one of the most exciting horses currently active in National Hunt Horse racing and a Philip Hobbs horse with a bright future. Quinz has many positive attributes that make the horse much more appealing than other contenders.

Career History of Quinz

The career history of Quinz covers a total of 13 races. These 13 races have produced five wins and one third place finish. The other seven races in the career history of Quinz have all produced solid results apart from a 16th place finish which came in a Grade 1 race.

The first race in the career history of Quinz came over 21 furlongs at Kempton on February 7 2009. Quinz found the going a little tough in this opener and the distance was probably too long for the first ever race of this horse.

The first win in the career history of Quinz came over 20 furlongs at Haydock on April 11 2009. The performance on this occasion was much more convincing and it was clear that Hobbs had been doing a lot of work with the animal. Quinz chased the leader at the front of the race before pushing on for a win by three lengths.

Best Performance of Quinz

The best performance of Quinz came early in 2011 at Kempton Park in mid-February. Quinz was entered in a field of 16 runners over 24 furlongs and won by a solid two lengths to be a mid-priced winner.

The best performance of Quinz show cased everything that is positive about this horse. Roger Johnson rode Quinz to the front early and the horse stayed there for the whole race. Quinz showed a superb ability to stay on while under pressure from more than one challenger at the end of the race.

The Strengths of Quinz

The strengths of Quinz include the handy habit of being able to stay on over long distances. This is difficult for any horse that likes to lead from the front because front runners often lack pace or power at the end of a race.

The strengths of Quinz also include a good attitude and behaviour and this is something Hobbs has to be praised for. Quinz shows off everything that is positive and fun about the attitude of horses. The Bay Gelding seems to love competition and thrives on having another horse in sight to race against.

The Weaknesses of Quinz

The weaknesses of Quinz include something the horse has no control over, age. There are going to be other, older, runners in the National with more experience and more developed bodies and stamina. This could put Quinz at a disadvantage before the race has started.

The weaknesses of Quinz also suggest a vulnerability if the start of a race does not go well. Quinz seems to be a horse that relies on good position at the front.
