RSA Chase 2011
The RSA Chase 2011 will be one of the most interesting races at the Cheltenham Festival because a competitive field will battle over three miles and a high number of fences.
There are some strong contenders emerging for the RSA Chase 2011 but the nature of the race means a small mistake by the favourite could let in one of the longer priced horses for a surprise win.
RSA Chase 2011 Betting
Time For Rupert is the current favourite on the RSA Chase 2011 betting market at 5/2. Time For Rupert has showed tremendous consistency so far in a short career with seven wins from 13 races including three wins at Cheltenham.
Paul Webber's seven-year-old Chestnut Gelding has also finished second in two races. The horse has not run since December last year which means Time For Rupert should be in perfect physical condition for the Cheltenham Festival 2011.
RSA Chase 2011 Contenders
Jessies Dream is one of the leading RSA Chase 2011 contenders at a best price of 8/1. Jessies Dream has placed eight times in 11 career runs and is due to be one of Gordon Elliott's best performers at the festival.
However, Jessies Dream is due to run in the last race on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival. There will be other RSA Chase 2011 contenders who will be running for the first time in this race and hence should be in better condition.
Seven-year-old Wymott is one of the strongest RSA Chase 2011 contenders in the field. Wymott has only finished lower than second place once from ten career races. Wymott is yet to make a debut at Cheltenham but is in good form with four back-to-back wins. A price of 12/1 for Wymott makes for a perfect each way bet.
Outsiders for the RSA Chase
There is a big group of outsiders for the RSA Chase that will look to challenge the stronger horses in the three mile run. Bostons Angel is one of the classic outsiders for the RSA Chase.
Bostons Angel is a long price of 16/1 to win the race but has good statistics with a 46.67 per cent career win rate. This includes two back-to-back wins in Grade 1 races that a lot of favourites at the Cheltenham Festival havenít even achieved.
Philip Hobbs Star Horses
Wishfull Thinking is one of the Philip Hobbs star horses due to run at the Cheltenham Festival this year. Hobbs has trained Wishfull Thinking over a three year period which has led to a win rate of a victory in every other race.
Wishfull Thinking has five career wins and two second place finishes which makes the eight-year-old Chestnut Gelding a superb each way option at 16/1.
Best Bets for the Cheltenham Festival 2011
Paul Nicholls may have trained one of the best bets for the Cheltenham Festival 2011 in Aiteen Thirtythree. Aiteen Thirtythree is a seven-year-old Irish Bay Gelding that has never finished any lower than third in a race.
Aiteen Thirtythree is one of the best bets for the Cheltenham Festival 2011 because Nicholls' horse won at Cheltenham in a Grade 3 race in October last year. This horse is superb value at 20/1.
