Tiger Woods Betting
In an unprecedented move that's shook golf betting to its foundations, Tiger Woods has broken his silence over the recent turns of events that have seemingly damaged his reputation as a clean-living sports professional to declare that he's taking what he calls an 'indefinite break from professional golf'. According to his own website, the world's number one golfer and one of the planet's most famous, instantly recognisable and richest sportsmen has announced his decision to step back from the game that's made him millions in the aftermath of a series of scandalous stories emerging centering on his private life.
From an online bookmakers perspective, this effectively means that all Tiger Woods betting markets solely focusing on all the 2010 golf betting major tournaments – The Open Golf Championship, US Open, US Masters and USPGA Championship – have been suspended until further notice. Woods has dominated the sport - and Tiger Woods betting markets have represented big business to the web's leading golf betting bookies – for over a decade now, so they're sure to take a hit on receipt of this latest Tiger Woods news. That said, other – less golf orientated – Tiger Woods betting markets have come to the fore in recent times as details of his personal life have become public knowledge. Yet in terms of Tiger emulating – or indeed, surpassing – the momentous golfing achievements of the great Jack Nicklaus (until late, almost a given) – all bets appear to be off until further notice.

Tiger Woods has confirmed his return to competitive golf will be at this year’s US Masters 2010. Woods has been out of action since a car crash led to a number of unsavoury elements of his private life being exposed to the public. Woods is the 4/1 favourite in the US Masters betting, a competition which he has won four times in his illustrious career and another victory this year would make it 16 career majors just two behind Jack Nicklaus’s all-time record.

Tiger to Speak
18/02/2010
Tiger Woods will speak in public for the first time since announcing his indefinite break from golf on Friday 19 February at 1600 GMT from the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse. He is expected to make a full public apology and make an announcement about his future plans for the game which could spark a frenzy of Tiger Woods Betting. It is widely expected that Tiger won’t miss any of the majors this year and thus would have to begin his comeback in advance of April’s US Masters 2010 for which he is a 5/2 shot to win. Not many people are willing to make predictions on where and when he will start his comeback so we’ll just have to wait and see what the man himself says, we’ll have all the news regarding Tiger’s press conference here as and when it happens.
Can’t see Tiger for the Woods
05/02/2010
Rumours are rife that Tiger Woods will make his (perhaps not so long) awaited return from a self-imposed exile from golf at the WGC Match Play Championship in Arizona on 17 February. The world’s top 64 golfers receive automatic entry into the competition and have until 12 February to notify organisers of any withdrawal. It is a tournament which Woods has won on three occasions in the last seven years and he will undoubtedly be the bookmakers favourite to win it should he compete this year.
In other Tiger Woods Betting he is 11/8 not to win a major this year, 13/8 to win one, 7/2 for two, 12/1 for three and 28/1 for a grand slam of majors. Paddy Power are offering odds on who will be Woods’ next corporate sponsor – although one suspects that this is more than a tongue in cheek betting market – Ambien (a prescription sleep aid) are the favourites at 4/1, John Player (get it? P-L-A-Y-E-R) is 6/1 and Autoglass are 8/1, you can even back Durex at 25/1!

And not before they run it past their legal teams of course. Hence our use of the word 'alleged' at every given juncture.
Tiger Woods has apparently admitted to a string of affairs after being caught out sending text messages to one of his 12 (and counting) floozies by the mother of his two kids; herself a former Swedish swimwear model. She's still Swedish mind. Having managed to hide his indiscretions to date that allegedly span a period of the last two years at least, Tiger was forced to spill his beans after a bizarre car accident resulted in him driving into a fire hydrant at the bottom of his own driveway. Although reports suggest that he had just been clubbed with one of his own nine-irons by his understandably upset wife just before he tried to speed off.
