William Hill Trophy Betting 2011

The William Hill Trophy 2011 will be the 28th run of the race since it changed format in 1981 to include the sponsors name in the title. The race is a Grade 3 contest over three miles and nineteen fences.

The William Hill Trophy 2011 will be the third race on the card for the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival this year. A prize purse of just under £100,000 means an exciting race despite the bigger races on the card for the first day. There are a number of horses that can challenge in this handicap.

William Hill Trophy betting 2011 Favourite

The William Hill Trophy 2011 favourite is a horse called Blazing Bailey at a current price of 12/1. The nine-year-old Bay Gelding has ten wins from 32 races over jumps including two wins already in 2011.

Blazing Bailey is trained by Alan King and is regularly jockeyed by Wayne Hutchinson. The horse hasn't finished any lower than sixth in a race since 2009 and looks bound to be carrying the most weight for the third race of Cheltenham this year.

William Hill Trophy 2011 Contenders

There are many William Hill Trophy contenders that can come through the field this year and upset Blazing Bailey. The current second favourite is an Irish Bay Gelding called Bensalem at 14/1.

This eight-year-old has a career winning percentage of just over 40 per cent and has already raced in a number of Grade 1 races. The horse has found the going a little tough in these rides but Alan King will have his second horse in this race in perfect condition.

Sunnyhillboy is a seven-year-old Irish Bay Gelding that stands a real chance of at least placing in this race. This Jonjo OíNeill horse has won seven times from 16 races including numerous outings in Grade 1 races.

The horse has been regularly jockeyed by Tony McCoy in the past and seems to have a very settled riding pattern. The best current price on the market is 16/1, which is worth a bet because Sunnyhillboy has eased to victory in previous Grade 3 races.

William Hill Trophy 2011 Outsiders

There is a very strong group of horses that seem to have the best chance of winning the William Hill Trophy 2011 during the Cheltenham Betting spree for this year. However, there is also a big group of William Hill Trophy 2011 outsiders.

Ogee is a seven-year-old Chestnut Gelding trained by Mrs P. Robeson and regularly jockeyed by Jimmy McCarthy. Ogee has six career wins over jumps all over similar distances.

The horse also has a combined total of nine second and third place finishes, which makes for a very good each way bet in this race. The horse is still young and should show a lot of enthusiasm.

The rank outsider for this race also comes from the Alan King stable. King Troy is 33/1 in this race but has six wins from sixteen races. This is impressive for an eight-year-old considering that four of those wins have comes in races between Grades 1 and 3.
