Where is our one day cricket squad going?

January 23rd, 2007 by FreeBetsmaster

Another day, another grim result for our one day cricket squad against New Zealand. Where’s it going wrong?

We must have the talent to compete at this level. Is it the coaching? Is it the squad selection? Who knows? One thing is for sure, we need to start improving dramatically to avoid a humiliating campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup Competition - but we’re leaving things a bit late!

One wonders if the Australian tour has taken it out of our squad somewhat, both mentaly and physically, but how can this be when players like Freddie Flintoff are playing so well and still giving it there all?

Time for Change?

People are bound to look at the coaches to identify where change may be needed but our players seem to be able to perform at some stage of their international careers, so it seems to be more a question of consistency, and for this you need application. Preparation for the Ashes from the Aussies point of view was almost military. This is what our guys need. To look at themselves and how they apply themselves to the task when they are at the crease batting, bowling to a plan or fielding.

We must keep behind our guys, they’ll need all the support they can get!
