Beckham’s nasty knee
August 30th, 2007 by FreeBetsmasterAlthough David Beckham has somewhat stepped out of the English Football Betting scene, apart from international of course, it was sad to see him get injured again last night after a gruelling schedule in the past seven days. He seems to have come in for a great deal of criticism as well as sympathy after the knee injury yesterday evening.
One can understand if LA Galaxy are not too happy with the situation with Beckham’s fitness at the moment. He didn’t arrive to play for England last week in the best of health and it smacks a little of Beckham being a cash cow at the moment rather than being treated like a professional footballer and given R & R to let his body settle and heal fully.
It’s easy to blame Beckham but it has to be down to how he is managed and someone being brave and having the courage to say “Time Out” and give him the recuperation time, even though the board of directors would be having reminders that they have a stomach - from their ulcers! But it’s sound business sense to take Beckham out of the frame until he is absolutely 100% fit. He’s reached an age now whereby if he doesn’t get this rest, he really could do something that shortens the twilight of his carreer
