England in good shape for Twenty20
September 11th, 2007 by FreeBetsmasterAfter their recent victory over India in the one day series, English cricket betting will be growing in interest again with Twenty20 cricket free bets coming to the fore as the Twenty20 world cup gets close.
England showed their trademark fighting quality in the final match of the one day series and comfortably beat India to take the series when they had faltered after some good performances early on. India are a very good side and the series win must give the squad confidence for the Twenty20.
It must be said, however, that the Twenty20 game is totally different and England will realise that. It’s good to see newcomer Luke Wright included and let’s hope he can produce because his style of opening could be the difference between England’s progression to the later stages or not.
If you look at previous candidates for the opening spot in this type of competition, namely Marcus Trescothick and Mal Loy, these are the type of pinch-hitters that England opening pair will have to emulate to put pressure on their opponents. We all know what Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist do in the first 5 overs and the only way to combat it is to have an equivalent opening salvo.
The bowlers will do their job but it has to be said that the competition is more a batsman’s domain.
