Mumbai Twenty20 Champions League Postponed

November 27th, 2008 by FreeBetsmaster

The Twenty20 Cricket Champions League due to take place next Wednesday in Mumbai, India has been postponed due to the recent terrorist killings. More than a hunded people have been shot dead with hundreds more injured it has been reported. Under this black cloud, the Indian officials have called off the event, stating that they cannot insure the safety of the players.

Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan and India were all to be represented in what would have been the cream of the very top cricketing nations taking part. There have also been massive calls to bring home the current England team still in India playing their remaining ODI tournament games. Under the current political climate it would seem a fair move, however, others are claiming that England are looking for an out, as they fail to come to terms with an Indian team who look far superior.

Whatever the outcome, I’m sure that all will be concerned over the latest terrible killings and here at the Free Bets Blog our thoughts go to the families and friends of those that have been killed in the latest showing of senseless violence.
