This Saturday, things start getting tasty on ITV1 as we get to the semi final round of X-Factor 2008. Not that things have been quiet in previous rounds. We’ve seen judges fall out with the contestants over song choices, judges fall out with each other and the voting system go into melt down as potentially the best voices in the competition fail to make it through. So whom are we left with and what are there X-Factor semi final betting chances of winning the competition?

JLS : Representing Louis and the Groups are JLS who personify everything you need for a successful boy band. They can sing in tune, harmonise well, look good and dress even better. Yep, it is all there, all that sweet, sticky, goodness that record industry moguls want you to buy into when marketing a boy band. Only trouble is that we have seen it done before a hundred times better. One of my tips to go this week, unless their mentor Louis can pull something spectacular out of that hat.

Eoghan Quigg : Simon’s hopeful and there is no doubt the boy has talent and a following. Simon is playing to his strengths by selling him to the High School Musical crowd. But it is a risky game because the more he does this then the more he’ll alienate the boy from the older audience. Guess that is why I’m not really a big Eoghan fan.

Diana Vickers : No doubt she has a special talent and that she has a unique voice but also has a knack of making whatever song she is singing sound exactly the same. To be quite honest, she should have gone last week instead of the sexy songstress from Spain. She must have a huge fan base because I have no idea why else she is left in the competition.

Alexandra Burke : This is her show and only Alexandra can throw it all away. I have had a close eye on her from the very beginning of this years show and has gone from strength to strength each passing week. If there is any justice in TV voting land then she should be crowned X-Factor 2008 winner.
