World Championship Snooker betting 2010
Beginning in the middle of April and finishing in the early days of May the World Snooker Championships is the pinnacle of the game and its venue, the Crucible in Sheffield, is its spiritual home. All achievements in snooker pale into insignificance when compared with this one, the World Snooker Championship trophy is the one that they all want on their mantelpiece.
World Championship Snooker Draw
The draw for this year’s World Snooker Championship has been made and it has handed a rather difficult task to the bookmakers favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan. ‘The Rocket’ was given one of the toughest possible opening round games where here will play Chinese sensation Liang Wenbo, if he progresses there then he will come up against a resurgent Mark Williams in the second round. Ronnie will have to be on top of his game from the off if he is to justify his favouritism in the World Championship Snooker Betting 2010.
Elsewhere defending champion John Higgins will begin the defence of his crown against Barry Hawkins, UK Champion Ding Junhui will face Stuart Pettman, world number two Stephen Maguire will play Stephen Lee, eight-time champion Stephen Hendry will face surprise qualifier Zhang Anda and the 2006 champion will face the 2002 champion when Graeme Dott and Peter Ebdon go head to head. The first matches will begin on April 18 with the final being played over the course of three days (if necessary) and concluding on May 1.

A New Snooker Betting Era
The 2010 World Snooker Championships could be one of the most important in the history of the game. Because, for want of a better phrase, the sport has been dying on its arse for the last five years and popularity has dwindled to an all time low. However, a recent upheaval at the World Snooker HQ has seen the old guard replaced with sports entrepreneur Barry Hearn, the man who is almost solely responsible for the recent darts boom has now been charged with reinvigorating snooker.
Barry Hearn & Snooker
When it comes around to the 2010 World Snooker Championships in April Hearn will have only been in charge for a matter of months so we cannot expect to see many wholesale changes to the game in such a short period of time. Yet it is the implications of being crowned world champion for the forthcoming season which will have the greatest effect on the man upon whom that accolade is bestowed.
Hearn will be looking for a flag bearer in order to drive the game forward and whilst crowd favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan is the obvious choice whoever is tagged as the world champion will also be in line. Hearn will also be looking to create a box office rivalry between O’Sullivan and another player, similar to the rivalry portrayed between Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld in darts. If the game has the intended upsurge in fortunes then being crowned world champion will come with more than the usual implications.
World Snooker Championships Betting
The World Championship Snooker betting 2010 suggests that O’Sullivan is the most likely to be that man and he can be backed at 3/1, but his well documented mental fragilities make him vulnerable on the biggest stage. Defending champion and provisional world number one John Higgins is the next in the betting at 6/1 and newly crowned Masters Snooker Champion Mark Selby is available at 8/1.
Former world champions Stephen Hendry, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, Peter Ebdon and Graeme Dott will all also be involved and will have a thing or two to say about proceedings. And you cannot discount the likes of UK Champion Ding Junhui, world number two Stephen Maguire or the resilient Neil Robertson. It promises to be a great tournament for Snooker Betting .
