World Matchplay Darts Betting

The World Matchplay is the second biggest tournament on the PDC circuit and, after the PDC World Championships, is the event that all the players want to win. The tournament is sponsored by online bookmaker Mobile after they took over the honour from Stan James - previously the longest running partnership between a PDC event and its sponsor.

One of the main reasons that the World Matchplay is such a prestigious event for players and Darts Betting fans is the venue. The Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens has hosted the World Matchplay annually since 1994 and has staged some classic finals and produced some legendary winners.

James Wade won the first of his seven major titles at the Winter Gardens, Rod Harrington won back-to-back titles here and Phil Taylor has won no fewer than 11 World Matchplay betting titles.
